Welcome to the June 2024 edition of the Women Enterprise Alliance (WenA) Newsletter. This quarter has been filled with impactful activities, strategic collaborations, and forward-thinking programs all designed to uplift and empower women entrepreneurs across Nigeria.

Key Highlights

  • Strategic SME Advocacy: WenA Founder, HE Aisha Babangida, initiated a strategic committee—We Mean Business (WMB) Coalition—formed during the 2024 International Women’s Day event. This group will advocate for inclusive policies, access to funding, and market opportunities for female-owned businesses.
  • Financial Literacy Training: Seven women entrepreneurs received in-depth training on strategic financial planning and money management—empowering them to navigate business finances confidently and sustainably.
  • Digital Marketing for SMEs: 11 SMEs were trained on harnessing social media and digital tools for business growth through WenA’s DIY Digital Marketing Training Program.
  • Women’s Wellness Webinar: Over 220 women participated in the health-focused session themed “Hormones Unleashed”, with experts sharing advice on sleep, nutrition, stress management, and how wellness impacts business performance.

Looking Ahead

As WenA prepares to celebrate its 5th Anniversary, the Aisha Babangida Founders’ Award Gala is scheduled for July 2024. This triennial event will honor outstanding female founders across Nigeria in recognition of their resilience, innovation, and entrepreneurial excellence.

  • WenA Financial Literacy Drive – Empowering more women with financial decision-making skills.
  • BDSP Drive – Business development support for SMEs including market analysis, planning, and finance access.
  • WenA GEW 2024 – Celebrating entrepreneurship and innovation during the Global Entrepreneurship Week.
  • Social Media Training for SMEs – Learn to build campaigns, decode algorithms, and attract customers effectively online.

WenA continues its mission of building a robust ecosystem that supports, connects, and grows women-led businesses across Nigeria and beyond.
