WenA Partners with Welcome2Africa: Unlocking New Frontiers for Women Entrepreneurs

WenA Partners with Welcome2Africa to Boost Access to Investment for Women-Led Businesses

Women Enterprise Alliance (WenA) is proud to announce a strategic partnership with Welcome2Africa International (W2A), formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed in Abuja. This collaboration marks a major step forward for the WenA Scale Investment Initiative, which is designed to enhance access to finance for high-growth, women-led enterprises across Nigeria.

Through this partnership, Welcome2Africa will contribute its extensive investment network and expertise in investor mobilization and engagement. Together, WenA and W2A will co-create investor matching sessions, deal room experiences, and tailored capacity-building programs to equip female entrepreneurs with the tools they need to scale successfully.

About the MOU Signing

The MOU was signed on behalf of Welcome2Africa International by Ms. Bamidele Owoola (President/CEO) and Mr. Salim Yusuf (Investment and Trade Facilitation Lead). Representing WenA were Ms. Florence Omwumere (Head of Organization and Programs), Mr. Dauda (Legal Officer and Secretary to the Board), and Mr. Lani Gbogboade (Head of Communications and Partnerships), standing in for WenA Founder, Her Excellency Aisha Babangida.

What This Means for Women Entrepreneurs

This partnership strengthens WenA’s mission of promoting women’s economic empowerment by improving investment readiness and unlocking new funding opportunities. With W2A’s strong track record of supporting SMEs and agribusinesses in Africa, the collaboration promises to create a fertile ground for women-led businesses to flourish and scale.

“We are excited to collaborate with WenA on this meaningful initiative that bridges the gender investment gap,” said Bamidele Seun Owoola, CEO of Welcome2Africa International. “Women entrepreneurs are key to unlocking Africa’s full economic potential, and we are proud to contribute our expertise to this cause.”
