WenA Newsletter – May 2025

Empowering SMEs, Nurturing Young Minds, and Driving Investment Readiness

Global Exposure – AIM Congress 2025, Abu Dhabi

April 2025 was phenomenal for the Women Enterprise Alliance (WenA). Kicking off with the prestigious Annual Investment Meeting (AIM) Global Congress in Abu Dhabi, UAE, WenA showcased our network of women-led SMEs to global investors and trade partners.

Our entrepreneurs gained front-row access to:

  • Global market trends and investment conversations
  • Trade partnerships across the Middle East, Africa, and Asia
  • Export readiness insights from global players

Side meetings with global development partners opened doors to export promotion and capacity-building collaborations.

Nurturing Young Minds – Financial Literacy

Financial Literacy Trainings were rolled out across:

  • El-Amin University
  • Abdulkadir Kure University
  • Philomath University (Abuja)

Over 250 young women were equipped with tools to manage money, build wealth, and launch value-driven enterprises. Financial empowerment is about confidence and leadership—not just numbers.

Business Development – Empowering Growth from Within

WenA’s Business Development Support Team worked hands-on with SMEs through:

  • Business plan development
  • Business clinics
  • Access-to-finance advisory

Success Story: Jaunty Organics accessed funding and scaled operations, with many other SMEs receiving tailored growth and mentorship support.

Strategic Partnerships – Entrepreneurship from Campus

WenA strengthened partnerships with:

  • NILE University
  • Philomath University
  • El-Amin University
  • Abdulkadir Kure University

These alliances lay the groundwork for incubators, innovation hubs, and entrepreneurial curricula, grooming future CEOs from the university halls.

SMEs play a large, growing, and vital role in the economy of any country. They are the ‘hidden middle,’ ready for support and investment to thrive further.

"I understand we all are overwhelmed, because there is no manual on how to handle the crisis. But by tackling little things quickly, practically and with empathy, this could lead to action. If not we will be crippled."
