Following the success of the just-concluded 3rd WenA Conference on SME Scalability in Intra-regional Trade, Her Excellency, Aisha Babangida, has pledged to advocate for the development of Women-Owned Businesses and address recurring challenges faced with regulatory agencies.
During a courtesy visit to the Executive Chairman of Business Visa Limited, Alhaji Sani Garba, Her Excellency reiterated her resolute support for women’s economic empowerment.
She met with female entrepreneurs under the leadership of Business Visa to share their experiences, many of whom voiced similar challenges in developing and scaling their products.
Alhaji Sani Garba stated that Business Visa Limited was established to promote 100% Made in Nigeria products and services — showcasing Nigerian talent, innovations, and achievements across various scales of enterprise.
He praised the impact of the 3rd WenA Conference, which convened stakeholders in trade and export to discuss roadblocks facing women-owned businesses. He emphasized the need for long-term partnerships, noting that WenA and Business Visa Limited share common goals in advancing Nigeria’s SME sector.
Future Collaboration: In response to the issues raised during the discussions, WenA and Business Visa Limited will collaborate to provide meaningful solutions, serve as intermediaries between SMEs and regulatory agencies, and co-host a trade fair in November 2021 to spotlight Made in Nigeria products and boost intra-regional trade participation.
